Applied Learning Program (ALP)
Canberra Secondary School's ALP on Visual Arts and Design (VAD) is repositioned from our past strength in Digital Media. It is aligned to 21st Century Competencies Framework and to realise the vision of Every Canberran a Self-Directed Learner. We see VAD as a form of Aesthetics that helps our students to strike a balance between technical skills mastery with appreciation for the arts thus helping them in their holistic development.
This year (2018) between February to April we engaged an external vendor to teach our students stop motion animation. Acquiring this skill will fulfill their comprehensive learning in VAD. These 7 weeks program taught them how to make stop motion video using clay. Coming up with concept, planning, storyboarding, shooting and editing their in the span of 7 weeks is truly something to be proud of.
